Internships Post-Secondary Internships TEC Post-secondary, or Gap Year, Internship Program consists of two or three different internship placements for students deferring college, attending college part-time, or taking a leave of absence from college. Students in the program are placed based on individual interests and talents. This custom-designed program introduces students to separate strands within their chosen field of study. For example, a student interested in medicine might work in a hospital emergency room, laboratory and medical office. The student can choose to do either three different, three month, unpaid internships (approximately 4-5 hours/day, 2-3 days/week), or 2 different, 4 1/2 month, unpaid internships (approximately 4-5 hours/day, 2-3 days/week). Past students have worked in the fields of Landscape Design, Broadcast Media, Veterinary Medicine, Education, Writing and Medicine at the New England Medical Center. Students who enroll in this program have an opportunity to explore a career prior to attending college thus making their college experience more focused and meaningful. The cost for this program is $2000/year for students from TEC towns and $2600 for students from non-TEC towns.
